Product Types
Product types are used to organize your products into groups of like items to streamline reporting and pricing. For example, you may want to create product types to categorize your Surgical Products, Injections, Anesthetics, and Over-the-Counter products, or Boarding, Grooming, and Wellness Plan services.
You can create and manage product types in Financials > Manage > Types.
Add a Product Type
Select Add New Product Type.
A new Unnamed record then displays at the top of the Product Types grid. Select the record to edit the product type’s details.
Edit or Delete a Product Type
To edit or delete a product type, select the product and edit the desired fields, or select the Delete Product Type button.
You can also select Delete Product Type to cancel adding a new product type.

About Product Type Tax Rates
You can optionally configure local taxes to be added to product prices at the individual product level or at the Product Type level (so that all products linked to that type are taxed the same).
The system hierarchy is to apply the individual product tax first. If no tax is configured, the Product Category tax applies; if no Product Category tax is configured, the Product Type tax applies.
