Tips for Enabling Provider Schedules

There are two location settings in More > Admin > Locations > Scheduling that determine how appointments display on the Schedule calendar:

  • Enable Provider Schedules (Yes/No)

  • Show Unscheduled Providers (Yes/No)

The display of appointments in provider columns and custom columns on the Schedule calendar depends on the configured combination of these settings.

The following table describes the outcome of all combinations of these settings.

Settings

System Behavior

Enable Provider Schedules = Yes

Show Unscheduled Providers = Yes

  • If a provider is scheduled for the day, their provider column displays. Any appointments in the custom column without an assigned provider display separately.

  • If a provider is not scheduled for the day but has a scheduled appointment, their provider column displays and includes the appointment.

Enable Provider Schedules = Yes

Show Unscheduled Providers = No

  • If a provider is scheduled for the day, their provider column displays. Any appointments in the custom column without an assigned provider display separately.

  • If a provider is not scheduled for the day but has an appointment in a custom column, only the custom column displays with the appointment.

  • If a provider is not scheduled for the day but has an appointment that is not in a custom column, an Uncategorized column is added to Schedule. The appointment displays in the Uncategorized column.

Enable Provider Schedules = No

Show Unscheduled Providers = Yes

All provider columns display regardless of scheduling status. Custom columns always display.
