Patient Info tab

The Patient Information tab presents all the available patient demographic information.

General

The General section contains the following fields about the patient:

  • Name, Species, Breed

  • Is the patient Mixed Breed?: If the patient is a mixed breed, a notification displays Mixed next to the breed in the Patient Banner.

  • Birth Date: Enter the birthdate if known or the estimated age by years/months/weeks to the right.

  • Is Estimated Age?: When marked, Estimated will display next to the age in the Patient Banner.

  • Coat Color

  • Sex

  • Neutered/Spayed: If Unknown is marked, an orange Missing Neutered status will display in the Patient Banner. This field is updated with each encounter.

  • Date of Neuter: This field will auto-populate if the neuter surgery was performed at the location.

  • Date of First Heat

  • CPR Status: Select DNR- Do not resuscitate, BLS - Basic Life Saving, or Unknown

  • Tags

  • Latest Weight: This field is updated during each encounter.

  • Is Estimated Weight?: The weight will display in the Patient Banner.

WHEN AN ACCURATE WEIGHT IS RECORDED, MANUALLY CHANGE THE ESTIMATED WEIGHT TO NO.

  • Goal Weight: The goal weight does not show anywhere else on the patient chart.

  • Patient ID: The patient ID is generated by Vetspire and cannot be changed.

  • Patient Legacy ID: The Legacy ID is either the patient number generated in the legacy PIMS or corresponding to the legacy paper chart.

  • Microchip #: Record an existing microchip number or register a new number if integrated with PetLink. If PetLink is not integrated, the Register area will be blank.

VERIFY ALL CLIENT AND PATIENT INFORMATION BEFORE REGISTERING THROUGH PetLink.

IF AN ERROR OCCURS WHEN TRYING TO REGISTER, SAVE THE MICROCHIP NUMBER AND CLICK THE BUTTON TO TRY AGAIN.

  • Notes: Notes will show up on Quick Reference Sidebar and may be seen by Pet Parents if the screen is visible.

  • Deceased: This will automatically populate when the patient is euthanized in the hospital.

  • Active Status: Mark if the patient is an active patient of the Pet Parent.
