Zoetis
Vetspire supports ordering diagnostics through Zoetis Reference Laboratories and Zoetis Point of Care (formerly Abaxis). When you order Zoetis tests through an encounter, the test results populate in the patient’s chart when they’re ready!
Set Up Your Zoetis Point of Care Integration in Vetspire
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
You must first set up your Zoetis Diagnostics Vetscan® Hub at your practice. Zoetis will then supply you with the credentials you need to set up the integration in Vetspire. Please contact Zoetis for assistance with your Vetscan® Hub and credentials.
In Vetspire, go to More > Admin > Integrations > Labs.
Select the location you want to edit, then select Add New Laboratory. The New Location Lab window displays.
Enter Zoetis POC in the Laboratory Name field and select Zoetis POC in the Company drop-down field.
Enter your Zoetis POC Username, Password, and Clinic ID (also known as the ‘NARC ID’).
Set Auto Invoice? to Yes.
Select Create.
Set Up Your Zoetis Reference Integration in Vetspire
There are two steps to enabling the Zoetis Reference integration in Vetspire:
Generate an API key for Zoetis.
Retrieve your Zoetis Reference credentials from Zoetis and enter these credentials in Vetspire.
To generate your API key:
In Vetspire, go to More > Admin > Integrations > API Keys.
Select Create New API Key.
Enter a name for the key in the Title field (example: ‘Zoetis Reference Lab’), then select Create.
Contact Zoetis to share your Vetspire API key with them and request your Zoetis Reference credentials.
To add your Zoetis Reference credentials in Vetspire:
Go to More > Admin > Integrations > Labs.
Select the location you want to edit, then select Add New Laboratory. The New Location Lab window displays.
Enter Zoetis Reference in the Laboratory Name field and select Zoetis Reference in the Company drop-down field.
Enter your Zoetis Reference Username, Password, and Clinic ID.
Set Auto Invoice? to Yes.
Select Create.
Order Zoetis Labs through Vetspire
Both Zoetic Point of Care and Zoetis Reference lab tests can be ordered through a patient’s open encounter or in the Labs tab of Patient Chart.
To order a Zoetis lab:
Do one of the following to access the Order Lab window:
Go to the Orders section of the patient’s encounter and select + Order Lab.
Go to Patient Chart > Labs and select Order Lab.
In the Lab field, select Zoetis POC or Zoetis Reference. The Tests field then displays in the Order Lab window.
Select the test you want to order.

Select the Provider who is ordering the test (if different from the provider selected by default).
Select the Encounter that the lab order is associated with if you are ordering through Patient Chart > Labs.
Select Order Lab.
For Zoetis Reference: In the encounter, select Print Order Form for the requested lab order. Include the printed form with the sample that will be sent to Zoetis for testing.

For Zoetis Point of Care: Once the lab is ordered, you can run the test using your in-house device. The test results will be automatically sent to Vetspire.
If you are using VETSCAN IMAGYST, you must login to app.vetscanimagyst.com to review and improve image results and send them to Vetspire.
