Troubleshooting for Vetspire Pay (CardConnect)

This article describes common errors that may occur when collecting payments with the CardConnect integration and steps to resolve each. Please see the Fiserv Developer Studio documentation for additional information.

Solution

Failed to auth and charge due to: EMV data not authorized

The transaction was declined specifically due to an issue with the secure data exchange between the EMV chip card and the payment terminal. This could mean that the bank has specific security criteria that have not been met.

Confirm that the client’s name and address saved in their Vetspire profile match the cardholder's.

Unable to take Email/Text to Pay Payments

The CardConnect Merchant ID (MID) and/or the Bolt API Key saved in the integration settings is incorrect.

Verify your CardConnect credentials in your organization settings (under ‘Payment Processors’) and location settings.

Unable to process payment at the terminal

The Cardpointe API Username and/or the Cardpointe API Password is incorrect.

  1. Verify your CardConnect credentials in your organization settings (under ‘Payment Processors’). See Vetspire Pay (CardConnect) for more information on setting up the integration.

  2. Reboot the CardConnect terminal to update to the latest software.
