Macros

Macros are pre-written, hospital-specific text that can save time. They can be customized with variables to pull in the patient name, patient pronouns, and client name. Macros can be used in the discharge instructions, the plan section of encounters, text messages, emails, and more! If you find yourself typing the same things repeatedly, request a macro!

(red star) This is a permissions-based feature or is managed from the Admin page.

Macros can be used in almost any text box that is not a pop-out. A Macro may be used inside the Notes section of an encounter or text/email conversation. See the Macro Variables table below for the list of variables and their translation.

  • For bold text use (ctrl+B)

  • For italic text use (ctrl+I)

  • For underlined text use (ctrl+U)

  • Numbered and Bullet lists

Use a Macro

  1. Type the backslash (\) key located above the enter key and begin typing the macro's name to use a macro.

  2. Select the macro you wish to use from the drop-down or hit enter on your keyboard if it is at the top. Once the text appears, it can be edited as normal.

Is Universal

Set Is Universal: set this field to Yes allows to use the macro across the whole organization.

If the macro is not Universal, select the location you want it available.

REGARDLESS OF WHAT LOCATION IS ENABLED, THE MACRO IS VIEWABLE TO THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION.
