Tip: Adding Vaccine Reminders for New Patients

Reminders for vaccines can be automatically generated by Vetspire or manually added to the patient’s chart.

Vetspire Recommends

We recommend using auto-generated vaccine reminders. This is the most accurate method since your organization’s protocols are connected to your Vetspire product codes.

Option 1: Auto-Generate Vaccine Reminder via Encounter

1. In the Orders section of a patient’s encounter, add an immunization product.

2. In the New Immunization window, set the State to Administered.

3. Complete the additional fields as required, then select Add Immunization.

The vaccine is then recorded in Patient Chart > Immunizations. Vetspire will automatically generate reminders based on the vaccine’s protocol settings and patient criteria. See About Reminder Protocols & Cadences for more details.

Option 2: Manually Add Vaccine Reminder to Patient Chart

1. In the right panel of Patient Chart, select the plus sign icon ➕ under Patient Reminders. This opens the Add Reminder window.

2. Select the vaccine reminder in the Protocols drop-down menu and set the Due Date.

3. Select Save Reminder.
